Major landforms of North America

Alaska Range:    
Location: it´s comes from the Alaska Peninsula, to the border of Yukon Territory in Canada.
Characteristics: It has the highest point in North America. It´s name is Mt. McKinley
Most important landform: His most important is the Mt. McKinley

Appalachian Mountains:
Location:  It extends from Central Alabama, in the U.S.A.  through the New England states, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, and Quebec ( some Canadian provinces).
Characteristics: Appalachians, are about 1 500 miles. Are mostly low and gentle.
Most important landform: Mt. Mitchell.

Brooks Range:
Location:  In the mountains of northern Alaska.
Characteristics:  It´s higher slopes are made of snow and ice-clad
Most important landform: Mt. Isto

Canadian Shield
Location:  In eastern and northern of Canada and the Great lakes area of North America
Characteristics: Has large areas of coniferous forest.
Important landforms: Mont d’ Iberville

Cascades
Location:  comes from northeastern California and past across Oregon and Washington.
Characteristics:  Present massive snow-capped volcanoes
Most important landforms: Mt. Hood, Mt. Rainer, and Mt. St. Helens
Cordillera Central:
Location:  Costa Rica





 Coast Range

Mountains running along the Pacific Ocean coastline of California, Oregon, Washington. Is located in the western border of British Columbia, Canada, and the southern edge of Alaska.  Coast Range has tidewater glaciers low but rugged, stronger. The major landform is the San Francisco Bay.

Coastal Plain
This place of the southern and the southeastern U.S., is located to the continental shelf. Is characteristic by the level. places like Bayous, Marshes, Mudflats, Deltas and Swamp. The landform of the coastal plain is the Mississippi River.

Great Plain
Mountain and Ouachita Mountain of the northwestern Arkansas the eastern of Oklahoma. The Great landform is the Mount Rushmore. The land is smooth which is accompanied with a large treeless areas.

Rocky Mountain
The length of Rocky Mountain is about 2,000 miles and is located to the Mexican frontier. In the western of the united stated, on the eastern Alaska and Canada. Stand 4,399 meters. The landform in the Rockies is the MT. Elbert.

Sierra Nevada
Is in the eastern California, this mountain length is about 400 miles. The highest landform is the MT. Whitney and the meters are about 4,418. Is a large mountain range. The elevation increases in the occidental slope.

Sierra Madre
Has two major ranges and is smaller. Sierra Madre occidental runs to the México s pacific oceans coastline, with 3,034 meters . And the oriental run to the Gulf of México reaching 3,034 meters. The area is from southern Mexican state of Oaxaca and Guerrero. The landform of Sierra Madre is the Cerro Potosi.
